
1st Princess Teen Guyana- Candace Charles, Queen Teen Aruba-Gillienne Albertsz, 2nd Princess Teen Puerto Rico-Raquel Vera | Aruba takes it all! Miss Teen Aruba - Gillienne Albertsz won the heart of the Judges on May 4th, 2008 in the city of Nassau, Bahamas winning one of the world's most prestigious teens pageant - Miss Teen World International. Sporting an evening gown inspired by greek goddess Athena and flocked with exquisit fabrics of mostly gold and a french gipour decorated with swarovski crystals and the works, she wooed the audience and judges alike capturing the Best Evening Gown Award. She was also voted Miss Intellect by the Judges after a one-on-one personal interview with the Judges. If that was not enough this stunning beauty also was chosen as Miss Photogenic after rounds of official photo shoots with all of the contestants by Mr. Donald Knowles a leading Photographer in the Bahamas. In attendance with the newly crowned queen, was her mother Ms. Maritza Albertsz and her personal wardrobe designer, make-up artist and coach Mr. Edgar Kock. Adding to the list of her achievements, she placed second in Best National Costume and Best Physical Physique. Among some of the prizes Gillienne receives is a US$3,000 cash prize, a caribbean cruise, jewelry fitting a queen, designer eye wear, luggage set, a day at the spa and an all expense paid trip back to the Bahamas for both her and her National Director for the crowning of the 2009 Miss Teen World International. In first place was Guyana's very own Candace Charles, who stole the hearts of the contestants as she was voted for by all the delegates as Miss Amity. She also won the Best National Costume Award. In a close second was the ever talented Teen Puerto Rico- Raquel Vera and a favourite among the crowd, she also placed second during the Judges interviewing process. |
